Is it normal for a alternator to charge at 15v at idle?

Just wondering cuz sometimes its at 14.4 and other times its above 15

Using a DMM, as long as it does go above 16v or below 12.5 you should be good.
Ok i was using my stinger volt meter meter and thought maybe there was something wrong with it so i used a meter to test and it was same so i wasnt sure if it was something to worry about or not

Highest i think i seen it was 15.4 or .5
nope, just watch for 16v. if it hits that, your voltage regulator is going bad.
stinger volt meters need to be set first off when u get them if u didn't with a DMM then its not reading right in the first place so i would use a dmm to set it and check your voltage take front cover off and there is a set screw inside on the board it shows u how in the paper work

Apparently u didnt see my second post haha but its ok i said i did check with dmm and it was the same
I have always seen the colder it is, the higher the voltage sits. The hotter, the lower. I had a bad harness once and my system was charging to 17v lol
Lol 17 and maybe thats what it is hot and coldcuz its freezing right now

x2
agreed on the temp thing. cold starts im at 15.0. warm starts its like 14.6
Agreed on the above. Mine idles at about 14.4-14.6 when it's warm out, but 14.9-15.1 when it's cold.
Damn bros, I get 14.4 at cold and 13.5-13.8 at hot :/
Yup at cold I see 15-15.2 volts but on cold or when my cars been on for awhile I see 14.6-14.9
