I ordered a DIY kit from Ami. Ordered Birch instead of MDF. I'm trying to figure out if I want to stain it, paint it, or what. I would have just done carpet. Last time I carpeted something it looked terrible when I was done though. What do you guys think I should do to it? I know Birch looks ok stained if you take the time to do it right, no idea how it looks painted, and I'm not sure what to do other than that ;p

Ideas?

Yeah I'm not even sure what stain I would use yet. I was just gonna go to Sherwin Williams and check out my options. The only thing I'm worried about with that is, it's gonna look a little weird stained sitting on some grey carpet. Not that anyone actually looks at it very often.
