To the quote. What if u remember WILL this actually play down to? 1 ohm?The amp cannot and willnot go into those impedences.. That was a twisted rating for rules manipulation.. Believe me, i was a Orion dealer for 10 years.. Not alot of those amps out there, most were built and routed to Japan, and 100 for the US.. Major failure rate for those unfortunate enough to believe the ratings and try, lol.. The amp was geared to be released to dealers, and competitors only. It is NOT a high current amplifier.
The amp will NOT play 1 ohm.... it was a 2250 with some rewinding done was what we were told, you could burp at high 2 ohm, but would not retain a run with it.First id like to say... I WANT THIS

Ok, your not understanding the ERA, for one the amps were produced in 1997, (NOT 2006)the point of a amp doing a 1000+ watts, BUT being able to register that amp in a 25w and under catagory BECAUSE that is what the amp was rated at (by all intents and purpose the amp did under 25w per the specs) and therefor legal to enter that class... well really what do you think the outcome would be.. Orion was not the only company way under rating their amps at the time, They were just the one that decided to be overly SARCASTIC in their attempt to prove amp ratings were out of control, and actually believe soundstream was another.. All it really got Orion besides proving a point every one knew anyway , was to have the amp banned a year laterSo what load are you suppose to run them at? Seems like it didn't do too many people any good considering that it won't run at 1 or really even 2 according to you.
These were produced in '06? What was there purpose for comps since it seems like they will only play at 4+ ohms...?
I found this thread by a google search. I just found a really interesting Q&A article in a March 1998 Auto Sound & Security Magazine. I'll attempt to attach the article to this post. Those interested in this amp will find it intriguing. Enjoy
