With that big of an alt and only 2300wrms, I can't imagine you'd need anything more than a D6500. Additional batteries wouldn't hurt but not sure how much they are going to help you.

the car is a 95 tbird with a 4.6 V8, i just bought a Pro series 280 H.O alt from DC power to supply the power but now i need help with choosing the battery(s)...
I called and spoke with an XS power rep told him what i will be running for equipment which consist of - 2 Rockford amps, a t1500 and a t400.4 which is a total of about 2300watts RMS.
He said a single D6500 to replace the stock battery with up front is all i will need. Is this correct? i see alot of you guys running 2 or more batteries, 1 up front and atleast another to supply the power for the system... which is what i originally planned to do in my project but the rep is telling me to do otherwise.
What should i do?:dontknow: I really need some input.
Sweet price? Do it. Not saying it'll be the biggest help in the world at the moment, but there's no need to pass up a good deal if you're in a position to take advantage of it.Ok so i was finally able to get everything in place, hooked up and listened to the system.
I put my DMM on the battery and it was sitting at 14.xx at idle with the system off and then the voltage dipped into the mid 12's with the system at full tilt with the car still at idle.
The car's got the big 3 done in 1/0 wire with the main ground coming off of the battery to a distribution block about 14 feet back.
I'm figuring that it would help to add a second battery and i can get another D6500 for a sweet price. Would it be worth it to run a 2nd battery this large or should i look into a smaller one?
