You will finally get your wish lol I will be testing the newer 16k next saturday.

It will be at 1ohm, 5 kinetik 2400's, 1 deka intimidator, mechman 270amp with 3 runs of 0. Rise should be just over 2ohm (2.16 to be exact). Any idea what kind of power I should expect?

I'm gonna give them Neos hell before moving to Reno lol

Better get vids!
Sweet Rob
Can't wait to see vid:thumbsup:
What is your rise usually?

Where and when Rob? Since I'll be down in the evening, maybe I can make it there a little earlier to watch you tear some stuff up one last time.

If you get extra power over your other amps, your rise will be less.

Ill be up to Jers around 1 or so.

Actual rise is 1.16 from my nominal impedance. 2.16 should be my reactive load or there abouts for the SD.
good stuff, let us know how it goes.

Here is some stuff about impedance rise:

Better to go with 1 or 2 ohm amp? - Page 5 - Canadian Car Audio - Canada’s #1 Car Audio Forum

This is why i like dual 4 and dual 2's more coil in the gap at all times i was told. ;)
Started of the day testing with the ab 1100.1 found my reactive load of 1.01 with voltage at 11.6v 9500+ 4 consecutive burps.

Threw in the SD 16k had Dave and Jer (they run sd in thier setups) setup the amp after I made sure we had a 1ohm nominal impedance. Start with volume 16(10 clicks below normal burp) 148+ subs make funny noise lol 4k clamped. We all check subs, wiring, ohm load etc... Alls good we do it again I start even lower 1 click at a time listening to the subs as I hear a flub noise for 1-2secs then it continues braaaaap just fine so I keep going 151.8 (second burp) clamped 7k+ both subs toasted. :nea: Cars got that bad stinky thing going on ya know what I mean lol

I pull them out and thiers straight burnt formers. Bumming for sure.

Lucky me I got brought a spare pr of recones. I recone 1 sub before the party and put it in 10 degree weather this morning fire it up and sheyot the other is shot for sure. Good thing we wired the AB back in the night before lol I recone that one in 35mins and got just over an hr and a half of drying time and I'm worried lol Showed a 149+ on some mid volume lil jon push that and figured that would be enough but nooooo Robs gotten soft yadayada so I turn it up to a 152 and gave demos there after lol

7k on each sub or 7k for the pair? any pics of the formers.

still kickin ass.
7k for the pr lol I believe Bill has pics of the former.

Bland was there righting the numbers down and helping to run the clamps. Dave it was great to see you! I'm gonna miss you for sure Bro!! In and out of the lanes! We had some epic battles including 5 ties in Alexandria Bay!
To be clear the second subs freaky noise was the dust cap flapping the former. Those coils were fine.
impressive # man!

Hey rob, after you made sure subs are ok, did you put the 16kD back in?
After the first burp i did use the 16k for the second burp. After that I never got a chance to try it again as I had to recone at the show lol

There was something going on that I cant explain. With the 16k in the car volume off and freq paused the subs were still pulsing. I know the causes usually of such things but it didnt happen before with the other amp nor did it do it again once I put the AB back in. So I dont really know?
Sounds like you were getting some sort of feed back through the amp.
